My weekly Sunday Snapshot blog gives me an opportunity to look back on my sleeper picks from the past week and rate their performance.
Ryan Raburn
The Tigers outfielder is doing everything he can to cement himself in the starting lineup for this year and beyond. I recommended Raburn as a starting outfielder for all mixed formats and he came through this week. He batted .320 with eight RBI's. Raburn also added four home runs and six runs scored. He was scratched from Sunday's game because of an illness, but Raburn is a player to be trusted in all mixed leagues when healthy.
Freddy Sanchez
I recommended Sanchez as a stopgap option this week and he also produced. Sanchez hit .348 on the week while adding two RBI's and four runs scored. Look for Sanchez to continue to be a viable middle infielder or stopgap option in mixed leagues from here on out.
Brian Matusz
Matusz was a prospect on my radar from the beginning of the season. He has had his struggles for the lowly Orioles, but has flourished during the past few weeks. I recommended Matusz as a two-start pitcher this week, but the Orioles decided to push him back, making him a two-start option for the next fantasy scoring period. This week he pitched well, holding the Red Sox to two runs over six innings while striking out six. Look for Matusz to be a sleeper again the week as the Orioles intend to start him twice.
